Create your own website
Objective: students will be able to create an online portfolio of images produced throughout the course.
below is a video tutorial for building a website or you can follow the written steps with pictures further down on the page. (if the youtube link doesn't work, the video is also posted on google classroom, please view it there)
steps:
Go to weebly.com and sign up. You will have to enter your name, email address, and a password for the website. You can use your school email address or a personal one.
Name of Site >> Your Name Photography or Your Name Portfolio (Example: Kristen’s Digital Portfolio)
Type of Website >> Choose Portfolio (At the top menu bar, there are other options, I would stick with the porfolio ones because they are all used for artwork)
Themes >> Scroll down and look through the themes and choose one layout you like, your choice will be your background/layout for your website. The themes will give you the type of page you want according to photographs and text/buttons.
Choose your theme and then >> Start Editing
Website Domain >> Choose the first option, “Use a subdomain of weebly” and name it the title you previously chose (Example: KristensDigitalPortfolio)
Then click Continue and begin to edit your website:
You can drag and drop elements such as TEXT, IMAGES, SLIDESHOWS, etc.

Artist Page
Create another page by going to the pages tab and adding a page about the artist.
Name the page “About the Artist” or “About the Photographer”
Text >> Drag over a text box and include a famous quote about photography or art. Write 3 other sentences describing your work.
(Example: “A picture is worth 1,000 words.” My work shows my ability to use a DSLR camera as well as editing software including Adobe Photoshop. Many of these photographs were assignments however; I’ve also included some of my own work that I photograph as a hobby.)

Other Pages
Are you an art student who has other work? You can add pictures to another page.
You can also create a separate page for your own writing; maybe you have poetry, written verse, or other items that would make your website unique.
Don’t have either of the above? What about making a page of all your accolades such as awards you’ve won, things you’ve been nominated for, or including a general resume?
Create a separate page just like you did before. This time upload photos of your other art or add text for your resume. Don’t have photos? Take them with your phone and add them to google drive. Then download them and add them to your computer.

Delete any unwanted buttons or pages. Click on the item itself and click on the “X” mark to remove it, or click delete.
Your website should be professional looking with little to no mistakes. Broken links, buttons, or random text boxes that aren’t removed will result in loss of points.
