Water DRoplets
Remember how much fun we had photographing ink in water & marbles? Part pf the advanced class is to take what you already know from those two projects and push the limits a bit further. How can we include water and other colorful objects to create a unique photograph with varied results?...
SWBAT: create a photo abstraction by using water & everyday materials by manipulating manual camera settings.
Ever see a cool photo and think "how did they do that?" Well this is one of those projects!
First you will need to gather everyday items, candy, gumballs, pushpins, markers, crayons, even paper could work. Focus on COLOR, use something fun or patterned as your inspiration.
Next grab some items to help photograph, you will need a plate or bowl, a piece of plexi glass or something clear to put the water droplets on, and some books or something to stack higher than the bowl...see photograph below for a photo of the setup.

Next, you will need a water dropper or a spray bottle. You may need to experiment with the amount of water used to create droplets as well as the size of the droplets. Bigger droplets = more refraction, smaller droplets = a good way to include detail but might be hard to focus on...
See photos below...those are what you DON'T want....

Lastly, we will talk about camera settings in class....
Can you use your phone or an extra light if the images are too dark?
What type of aperture should be used for this assignment?
How can you change your setup and camera settings to be different than your classmates?
Check out the photos below of some results! These are the images that you are aiming to reach objective wise!
