OBJECTIVE: STUDENTS WILL CREATE A LIGHT PAINTING BY USING A SLOW SHUTTER SPEED IN TV AUTOEXPOSURE MODE.
Light painting is a photographic technique in which exposures are made by moving a hand-held light source (ie: flashlight) or by moving the camera.
By moving the light source, the light can be used to selectively illuminate parts of the subject or to "paint" a picture by shining it directly into the camera lens. Light painting requires a slow shutter speed, usually a second or more.

your assignment:
You will have 5 different objectives, using 5 different materials, at 5 different tables. Your goal is to get at least 1 good photograph per table.
Table 1: Use flashlights to outline a person in your group. You can color film and place it over the flashlight if you'd like. Outline them slowly, will you include hair and eyes? Will your person be posing in a certain way?
Table 2: Use the finger glowsticks to illustrate the meaning of a word. Words will be left at your table. Hint: Photograph your word so you remember it!
Table 3: Do anything! Experiment with the glowsticks at your table. Try all kinds of techniques, dropping them, moving them, spinning them, etc.
Table 4: Use the Bokeh technique to get your lights to blur, use a lens cap to make your lights into a shape.
Table 5: Use your cell phone light or flashlight to spell out your name. Hint: Write it on a piece of paper first, then copy it while using the light!
